22 Dec 2009 - Erasure Update

Here's to 2010... with a new Erasure album, a potential Erasure tour and solo material from Andy Bell already in the pipeline... it's already shaping up to be an excellent year!

"A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR GORGEOUS ERASURE PEOPLE!"
That's the festive message for you from Vince Clarke and Andy Bell, but that's not all they sent! They also sent over a song which you can listen to on the website. 'Dream A Little Dream' is a gentle, stripped-down acoustic version of the classic song made famous by The Mamas & The Papas and you can hear it on the
homepage and the news page of the website... enjoy!

FREE DOWNLOAD OF A NEW 'A LITTLE RESPECT' REMIX
Mute Records have also sent over a gift for you, a free download of a new remix of 'A Little Respect' left over from The Innocents project earlier in the year. 'A Little Respect (GRN's 'Respectful' Radio Mix)' is, as the name indicates, a respectful remix that doesn't alter the original track too much and we hope you enjoy it. See the news section on the website for the download link.

THE INNOCENTS AT NUMBER FOURTEEN IN OUT MAGAZINE'S 'MOST IMPORTANT ALBUM' POLL
Out Magazine has just conducted a poll to list the ten most important albums in the lives of a panel of over one hundred gay actors, comedians, musicians, writers, critics, performance artists, label reps and DJs. David Bowie's 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' topped the poll and Erasure's The Innocents came in at number fourteen. You can see the top ten albums listed in the news section on the website.

FREE VINCE CLARKE REMIX IF YOU TWITTER ABOUT A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS
Vince Clarke's remix of A Place To Bury Strangers' single 'In Your Heart' is being offered as a free download to anyone who helps spread the word about the band via Twitter. See the news section on the website for more details!

MIKE HALL TALKS ABOUT THE INNOCENTS...
Mike Hall was Vince Clarke's keyboard technician on The Innocents tour (and way beyond!) and he kindly agreed to answer my questions about those far off days for my increasingly erratic (but hopefully still enjoyable!) 'In Search Of The Innocents' blog. Mike's answers are fascinating and add yet another perspective to the story behind what is perhaps Erasure's best known album.

A BIT OF FUN ON FACEBOOK...
A new group has been set up on Facebook recently, the group is titled 'Get Vince Clarke to judge on X-Factor' and is calling for support in it's (unofficial!) mission. See the group's Facebook page for more details!
