MORRISSEY will release a new single 'That's How People Grow Up' on January 28th to precede a fifteen-track greatest hits collection. The single - which is backed by live versions of 'The Last Of The Famous International Playboys', 'The Boy With The Thorn In His Side' and 'Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself' - will be the only new track on the collection.

ABC will release a new studio album, 'Traffic' on February 4th. The album will be preceded by a single, 'The Very First Time', in January. The band will also play four special Canadian shows with a full orchestra in February and March next year. The shows will take place in Ontario on February 29th and March 1st and in Kitchener on March 5th and 6th. More details are expected soon.

KYLIE MINOGUE is to receive the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ award at next year's Brits Awards which will take place on February 20th. The singer has also added more dates to her forthcoming tour with extra shows scheduled in Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and London... see GIGS for all the dates.

SIOUXSIE SIOUX will embark on a short UK tour in February and March next year. See GIGS for all the dates.

CATHY DENNIS has started a new project entitled Sexcassettes which is expected to release a new album and tour in the first half of next year.

MADONNA will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame next year alongside JOHN MELLANCAMP, Leonard Cohen, the Ventures and the Dave Clark Five. The induction ceremony will take place on March 10th next year. Meanwhile, according to her management, her new album which is expected to be released next year will not be entitled 'Licorice' despite persistent internet rumours to the contrary.

BAUHAUS will release a new album - their first studio album since 1983 - on March 4th next year. The release, entitled 'Going Away White' will also mark the end of the legendary act who are to split (again!) following the album's release.

SPANDAU BALLET are to reform to play at the launch of a Las Vegas development next year according to internet rumours which also place the band's fee to set aside their differences at around £2 million.

GARY NUMAN will release a new edition of his 'Replicas' album on February 25th to tie in with his forthcoming 'Replicas' tour which kicks off the following week. The expanded edition will feature a massive 27 tracks across two CDs and will feature the original album, a complete earlier version of the album and a series of b-sides and out-takes. A limited edition picture disc single featuring key tracks 'Are 'Friends' Electric?' and 'Down In The Park' is also planned.
