Fleetwood Mac will record a new album and play live dates next year, they have revealed.
??
The legendary rock act are expected to reconvene in January to begin work on their first material since 2003's "Say You Will". The news was announced by Lindsey Buckingham, who is about to release his latest solo album, in a new interview.
??
However, he says there are currently no plans for Sheryl Crow to join the band, following much speculation earlier this year. Speaking about the latest Fleetwood Mac reformation, Buckingham told Billboard the itinerary is currently being put together, with rehearsals due at the start of 2009. On the subject of Sheryl Crow, he said the idea of her becoming part of the touring group had "just kind of lost its momentum".

Lindsey Buckingham releases his new album, "Gift Of Screws", on September 16.

Devil's Tavern from The Blow Monkeys
Dear all,

A very quick update and alert for you. Firstly, the artwork for the new album is complete, and with the CD in production, copies for those who pre-ordered will be in their way to you as soon as possible. We are receiving lots of emails asking how it's going. Sorry we can't reply to every one, but you will have a copy soon!

Next - live dates. We have been forced to change some of the live dates. The band are extremely sorry about these moving dates and know that some of you have committed to days off work or long distance travel. Please stick with us - it will be worth the wait! As always, check www.theblowmonkeys.com for the latest.

The rumours are that forthcoming press reviews of the album are hopefully going to be very enthusiastic and keep an ear out as The Bullet Train from Devil's Tavern was played last week on the Jonathan Ross who on BBC Radio 2. We know you will be extremely pleased with the album, as all those involved with it are.

Thanks all. More soon.

Universal will be issuing a new career-spanning compilation from pop auteurs Saint Etienne. Entitled London Conversations, it will come in 2 editions: one the band describes as “a condensed greatest hits” — they advise fans that “you may not need this” since said fans already have all the tunes most likely — and the other a two-disc set that will include the impossible-to-find “Lover Plays The Bass” along with a pair of new singles (the first of which will be out in August).
??
This comes on the heels of the 4-CD rarities box set titled, sensibly, Boxette, that Saint Etienne released as a fanclub exclusive earlier this year.
