KYLIE MINOGUE has recorded a cover of ABBA's 'The Winner Takes It All' as a duet with her sister Dannii as the theme tune for Meera Syal's new BBC TV show 'Beautiful People'.

MORRISSEY is to release a live DVD 'Live At The Hollywood Bowl' on October 6th. The release features the singer's final show at the legendary US venue in front of a crowd of 17,000 people and includes many of his best known solo hits and a selection of material made famous by THE SMITHS. Morrissey himself however has disowned the release - which is being released without his permission or involvement and which he has branded as 'slapdash' - and has urged fans not to buy it. JESUS JONES are to play a low-key gig at London's Luminaire on October 29th.

ULTRAVOX will release remastered and expanded 2-CD editions of their classic 'Vienna' and 'Rage In Eden' singles on September 22nd, each release featuring the original album in a remastered form plus a second CD containing b-sides, remixes, demos and live tracks. HONEYROOT, the side project of HEAVEN 17 singer GLENN GREGORY, will release their new single 'It's All Good' on September 8th.

TINA TURNER will release two brand new songs as part of a new ultimate collection planned to precede her upcoming Autumn tour dates. The album 'Tina!' will see the new tracks 'It Would Be A Crime' and 'I'm Ready' alongside some of her best known singles and a selection of live tracks and will be released on September 30th. GRACE JONES will release a new single 'Corporate Cannibal' on 25th August. The download-only release is the first from her forthcoming album 'Hurricane' which will be released on October 27th.

U2 will release their 1983 concert video 'Live At Red Rocks' on DVD for the first time on September 29th containing the original concert plus an additional five previously unreleased tracks. A remsatered edition of the band's live album 'Under a Blood Red Sky' will be released on the same day. See NEWS for the expanded DVD tracklisting. Meanwhile U2's forthcoming new studio album is rumoured to be called 'No Line On The Horizon' and possible track titles include 'For Your Love', 'Love Is All We Have Left', 'One Bird', 'Moment Of Surrender' and 'The Cedars Of Lebanon'.

TRACY CHAPMAN has announced a full European tour, including three UK dates in Bristol, Manchester and London, for November and December. The shows will be in support of her forthcoming album 'Our Bright Future'. See GIGS for all the dates.

THE BLOW MONKEYS' frontman DR ROBERT will play a one-off solo show at London's The Purcell Rooms on September 15th as part of Heavenly Records' 'Heavenly 100' celebrations. The Blow Monkey's meanwhile will release a new single, the first from their upcoming reunion album 'Devil's Tavern', entitled 'The Bullet Train' as a download on August 18th.

HOWARD JONES has confirmed four acoustic shows in Germany for November, with six more shows in the pipeline to be announced shortly. See GIGS for the shows announced so far.

THE CURE will release an EP containing remixes of the four singles released from their forthcoming, as yet untitled album, on October 13th. See NEWS for the full tracklisting. The Cure are also to be the subject of a tribute album 'Perfect As Cats' which is to be released on October 28th. The compilation features 32 interpretations of classic Cure songs by a diverse selection of bands and artists including the Dandy Warhols and Bat For Lashes.

BRYAN FERRY will receive one of this year's BMI Icon awards, awarded to artists who have had 'a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers', at a special ceremony in London on October 7th.

OMD have announced the tracklisting for their forthcoming 'Sight & Sound' CD and DVD which is due for release on September 22nd. The hits compilation will also feature a brand new track, a mash-up remix with Groove Armada, entitled 'Dazzle Ships At The River' which will be exclusive to the release. DURAN DURAN have recorded live versions of 'Save A Prayer', 'The Chauffeur', 'New Religion', 'Hungry Like The Wolf' and 'Rio' for a new title in the 'Classic Albums' DVD series. The release will focus on the 'Rio' album and will feature not only those performances but also footage of the band telling the story of the writing and recording of the album, interviews with key people around the band at the time and plenty of archive footage from the period. 'Classic Albums: Rio' will be released on October 27th.

ANNIE LENNOX has covered Ash's 'Shining Light' for a new compilation 'The Annie Lennox Collection' which is due for release on September 15th. The album will preceded by a single 'Pattern Of My Life' which has been written for Lennox by Keane singer Tom Chaplin. See NEWS for the album tracklisting.

GEORGE MICHAEL is to retire from large scale concert performances after finishing the final leg of his '25 Live' tour this month.

SONIA will star in pantomime this Christmas when she appears in 'Sleeping Beauty' at Rhyl's Pavilion Theatre. Sonia also has a number of live appearances lined up to the end of the year, see GIGS for all the dates.

808 STATE will celebrate their twentieth anniversary with the reissue of four of their best-known albums in October. The albums - '808:90', 'ex:el', 'Gorgeous' and 'Don Solaris - will each appear in expanded double CD packages featuring the original albums in remastered editions plus rare and previously unreleased tracks and remixes. All four albums will be reissued on October 6th.

MADONNA is to publish a book to support her film documentary 'I Am Because We are' which covers the plight of Malawian orphans. The book, which will have the same title as the film, will feature images by photojournalist Kristen Ashburn, interviews with Malawian children and an introduction written by Madonna.
