Paolo Nutini, 19, of Paisley, said he is delighted to be playing at home. He said: "I am over the moon to be asked to play at the Hogmanay festivities in Scotland. It's a thrill to be playing at home on the most special night of the year. I hope that we can really pull out all the stops and make sure the crowd has a roaring good night."

Pete Irvine, director of Unique Events which organises the city centre celebrations, said: "We are finalising a brilliant programme for Hogmanay this year but we are delighted to make a first announcement of the artists for Concert in the Gardens."
