Portishead are to make their long-awaited live return as curators of All Tomorrow's Parties this Christmas, it has been announced.
??
After a decade out of the limelight, the influential pairing of Geoff Barrow and Beth Gibbons have selected the line-up for the event. The band, who won the Mercury Prize in 1995 for their debut album "Dummy" in 1995 but have not played live for ten years, confirmed the news in a posting on their MySpace.
??
"We have always loved the All Tomorrow's Parties set-up and we're happy our first shows will be there. It's great to have the opportunity to introduce bands we love or have influenced us", the statement reads. "We've chosen a diverse collection of artists to play with us and we're really looking forward to it", said Portishead, who played a low-key acoustic gig in Bristol in February.

All Tomorrow's Parties "Nightmare Before Christmas" takes place in Minehead in December.
