Swing Out Sister release their ninth studio album, "Beautiful Mess" on Monday 8th September. The album includes the new single 'Something Every Day'. The band will follow up the release of the album with UK concerts in October.
Lead singer, Corinne Drewery, will be special guest on BBC Breakfast News (BBC 1 TV) on Monday 8th September. The single is currently getting airplay on BBC Radio 2's Wogan Show, and Smooth FM has added the single to their play list.
Their unique blend of cinematic jazz pop earned them several chart singles, including 'Breakout', a UK No.4 hit, 'Surrender' and 'Twilight World', resulting in their 1987 debut album, 'It's Better To Travel', hitting the number one spot in the UK.
Today sees the release of our single ‘The Last Stop’ and at last we can use the words “out now” in relation to our new material. Unlike our previous single releases though, there’s no piece of vinyl or no cd to hold in our hands as it’s available exclusively as a digital download – my how times have changed!
The new album ‘Open Soul’ will also available digitally but on top of that there are two physical versions that you can get a hold off, speaking of which we’ve just gotten our finished copies and we need to say that we’re absolutely overjoyed with the way they both sound and look. That said we’ve just sat and signed a right good few of the premium deluxe limited editions for you and jeez our wrists don’t half ache, however judging by all the activity at the Hue and Cry music club, we know that you appreciate the personal touch.
As soon as we send this, we’re off to do the rounds of interviews, sessions, and live performances connected with the launch of ‘Open Soul’ so hopefully we’ll be hitting the airwaves and print near you soon. Well done if you’ve won tickets for any of the forthcoming some small intimate performances, we'll see you there!
After that, we’ll be on tour again with our band who are simply sounding better and better with every day of rehearsal chalked off. As we’ve said before, watch out for some nice surprises in the set alongside the old favourites and some new material.
We’re sure there’s more details on the above to be found below, meanwhile take care and here’s hoping we bump into you whilst we’re out and about over the next few weeks, make sure you say hello.
Until the next time.
All the best,
Pat & Greg

WILTON'S DVD
A DVD of the show recorded at Wilton's Music Hall earlier this year is to be released in October. Entitled Marc Almond In Bluegate Fields - Live At Wilton's Music Hall, it will be a double package of DVD and CD. The show was filmed on the Thursday night of the week long run at Wilton's and the release will include most of the two and a half hour show as well as a few bonus songs recorded especially for this release. The audio only CD will feature a selection of highlights from the Thursday and Friday nights, including guests for the evening Little Annie and Baby Dee. Marc's shows at Wilton's have been acclaimed by fans and music critics alike and Marc hopes this package will capture some of the spirit of the shows at this special and atmospheric venue. We will bring you more details of the exact release date when it is set.
