Pop queen Madonna could be the latest of a string of celebrities to pose as a model for Swedish low-cost fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz (H&M), a Swedish newspaper said. The daily Expressen said that Madonna was in negotiations with the company.

"She's a superstar, a style icon, and controversial. Now Madonna could be H&M's next clothing model," the paper said.
H&M would neither confirm nor deny the report. "Our policy is to never comment on such reports," company spokewoman Kristina Stenvinkel told AFP.

The retailer announced earlier this month that Dutch designer duo Viktor + Rolf would create a special collection for H and M this autumn, to be launched in November.
But it has yet to announce who will don the creations in the accompanying advertising campaign. Previous H&M models have included superstars Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Anna Nicole Smith.

Morrissey has waded into the controversy over the new Oxford animal research laboratory by warning those working on the site "we'll get you".

The singer used a concert at the city's New Theatre on Thursday night to hit out at the £20 million biomedical research laboratory site currently under construction in South Parks Road.

He branded Oxford "the shame of England" for allowing the laboratory and told fans: "If you agree with vivisection, go and be vivisected upon yourself."

The vegetarian former Smiths frontman and animal-rights activist, who is currently promoting a new album "Ringleader Of The Tormentors", has long courted controversy.

In an interview with fanzine True to You earlier this year, he said he supported "the efforts of the Animal Rights Militia in England" and understood "why fur-farmers and so-called laboratory scientists are repaid with violence - it is because they deal in violence themselves and it's the only language they understand".

Animal-rights activists are, he said "usually very intelligent people who are forced to act because the law is shameful or amoral".

Last year, he told NME magazine he had been quizzed by the FBI and Special Branch over his outspoken criticism of the US and British governments.

He has previously branded George Bush and Tony Blair "cruel and morally bankrupt" and said that like Saddam Hussein they were "egotistical dictators".

?? ??
But he still has some fans, including Tory leader David Cameron, who this week picked "This Charming Man" by The Smiths as one of his eight Desert Island Discs and said that Morrissey's appearance on Top of the Pops was "an iconic moment for people of my age and generation".

A spokesman for the singer confirmed he had made the comments in his concert last week but declined to say more.

02 Jun 2006 - Eno Rejoins Roxy Music

Brian Eno has rejoined Roxy Music, the electronic music legend confirmed in a new interview this week. Brian Eno, who quit the glam rock pioneers in 1973 after the group's landmark LP "For Your Pleasure", was rumoured to be working with the band again earlier this year.

However, after denying the claims, he has now confessed that he will contribute to the new Roxy Music album, which is scheduled for release in the Autumn.
??
Brian Eno
, who's radical production work since the '70s has galvanised acts such as David Bowie, Talking Heads and U2, says the relationships between Bryan Ferry and co have stayed much the same in the intervening 30 years.

"The band hadn't changed one bit in terms of its internal dynamics. Just the same chemistry," he told The Guardian. "It made me wonder if people can ever change the chemistry between them. After all that time, the relationships seemed exactly the same."
??????
However, Brian Eno is not expected to join Roxy Music on their upcoming live dates.
