The Manic Street Preachers have held a private memorial for Richey Edwards.

The 27-year-old songwriter and guitarist disappeared ten years ago yesterday [February 1]. His car was later found abandoned by the River Severn in Wales. Bassist Nicky Wire told NME.com: "We'll talk to each other on the day and we'll remember something funny or stupid or sad. That's the impossibility of the situation anyway, there's no centred thing to fix yourself on. It's a personal thing between the three of us, and his mum, dad and sister."
The Manics have continued to pay a quarter of their royalties into a bank account in Edwards' name.

Despite various unconfirmed sightings and the discovery of body parts in the Severn over the past decade, neither Edwards nor his remains have ever been found.
