21 Aug 2004 - Kristian Leontiou

Kristian Leontiou in the press:

Kristian Leontiou mixes the looks of a skate-punk with the songwriting skills of seasoned professional and the voice of a soulful angel to create his first blast at the charts Story Of My Life??. Taken from his debut album ??Some Day Soon?? this is an exquisite slice of pop-rock magnificence destined for stadium filling status.

??Shining?? is the second single to be lifted from Kristian Leontiou??s hugely successful debut album ??Some Day Soon?? and continues to show just why he has been heralded as one of the brightest stars of 2004. As with first single ??Story Of My Life?? this is a soulful track featuring Leontiou??s amazing vocal delivery.

The debut album from 21 year old Londoner Kristian Leontiou is a magnificent work of epic pop genius that showcases his monumental voice to spectacular effect. First single and opening track ??The Story Of My Life?? kicks things off in grandiose style before the album settles down to a sedate set of love fuelled anthems including the brilliant ??Shining??, ??It??s OK?? and ??Caught In The Moment??. A remarkable debut from an outstanding new talent.

The Ultimate Remix Album

Depeche Mode Remixes 81-04
Released October 25th on Mute Records
Released October 26th on Reprise Records

Depeche Mode - Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher - are unique. For nearly 25 years they have been making groundbreaking music, which has influenced generations of artists.

Depeche Mode have always been at the vanguard of remix culture since its inception, and the history of Depeche Mode is inextricably linked with the history of the remix. Very early on in their career the band worked closely and extensively with up and coming remixers who would go on to become pivotal figures in the field including Francois Kevorkian, Adrian Sherwood, William Orbit, Portishead and Air.

"Remixes 81-04" is a 2-disc set spanning over 20 years of Depeche Mode's pioneering remixes. Almost a greatest hits collection, the album is a compendium of Depeche Mode classics remixed by some of the best remixers in the world, including Underworld, Goldfrapp, Air, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Timo Maas, Flood and of course Depeche Mode themselves. It is also released as a limited edition triple disc set, featuring a bonus disc of highly collectable and rare remixes. At once a celebration but also an historical record of the evolution of the remix, the album is a fascinating and deeply rewarding document of an emerging art form.

THE BLUE NILE SET FOR WELCOME RETURN

Elusive Scottish three-piece The Blue Nile are set for a very welcome return in August with the release of their first album in over eight years.

The band (Paul Buchanan, Paul Joseph Moore and Robert Bell) released their debut album 'A Walk Across The Rooftops' back in 1984 and quickly built up a strong and loyal fan base. Their 1989 follow-up album 'Hats' charted inside the Top 20 of the UK album charts and spawned the hit singles 'Saturday Night' and 'Downtown Lights'.

The album was critically acclaimed by the music press and UK and US tours soon followed. Some seven years then passed before the band released their last album 'Peace At Last', which charted at No. 13 in 1996.

Eight years later and the guys are back with what is already being regarded as their finest album to date. Once again the music press have welcomed the band back with open arms and after just one listen of 'High' it's easy to see why.

The album will be released through Sanctuary Records on 30 August, with single 'I Would Never' preceding it on 23 August. The single will feature two rare tracks from the band, which previously appeared as A and B-sides on their first ever single on the RSO label.
