SPANDAU BALLET will release a brand new single on November 9th. The track, entitled 'Once More', will be the recently reunited band's first new release for twenty years. Spandau Ballet will also release a new album on the same day although the album title is still to be announced. Recording commitments however have forced the band to reschedule their mainland European shows. After Spandau Ballet's forthcoming UK and Irish shows they will play one more show in Amsterdam on November 1st and then pick up the European dates - which now includes a new show in Rome - in March next year. CULTURE CLUB, ULTRAVOX, KAJAGOOGOO, DURAN DURAN, CLASSIX NOUVEAUX and THE STRANGLERS will all have concerts, recorded in the early 80s, released as downloads in December. The shows were originally recorded by the BBC for their 'In Concert' series and will be available on December 7th alongside shows from THE SPECIALS and THE SELECTER that were recorded in 1979. ABBA, GENESIS, DONNA SUMMER, KISS and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are among the nominees to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year.

ABC are to perform their classic album 'The Lexicon of Love' in its entirety at two special shows in Sheffield and Manchester in December. The shows follow the success of the band's 'The Lexicon of Love' show at London's Royal Albert Hall in April and will again see the band accompanied by a full orchestra conducted by ANNE DUDLEY. ABC will also headline the forthcoming Oxfam charity event Oxjam at London's Matter in October, topping a bill that includes Mylo, Kisy Seel Out and The Hoosiers. See GIGS for all the dates.

MADONNA is thought to be planning a collaboration with JANET JACKSON on a tribute song for the late MICHAEL JACKSON according to current rumours which started after the duo dined together after MTV's recent VMA Awards.

MICHAEL JACKSON will release a new song on the soundtrack to accompany his forthcoming film 'This Is It'. The song, also entitled 'This Is It' will be released on October 12th and will be followed by the 2-CD soundtrack album on October 26th. The 'This Is It' film will premiere at fifteen simultaneous events around the world on October 27th. See NEWS for more details about the album and about the launch of the film.

GEORGE MICHAEL will release a live DVD entitled 'Live In London' on December 7th. The DVD and Blu-Ray release was filmed at London's Earls Court on Michael's '25 Live' tour last year.

FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD will release a new compilation 'Frankie Say Greatest' on November 2nd to mark the 25th anniversary of the original release of their classic album 'Welcome To The Pleasuredome'. The CD/DVD release will feature all the band's hits plus new remixes of 'Relax','Two Tribes' and 'Power of Love' and original remixes.

PSYCHEDELIC FURS have added two more shows to their upcoming run of UK dates and have announced that as part of their set they will perform their 1981 album 'Talk Talk Talk' in its entirety. The band will play the shows in London, Glasgow and Manchester in November, see GIGS for all the details.

JOHN FOXX will release a live album 'In The Glow' on October 19th, featuring concerts recorded in 1983 when he was touring his 'The Golden Section' album. The 2-CD package will feature mostly unreleased recordings from shows at London's Dominion Theatre and The Lyceum in October and December 1983 respectively. Foxx will also see reissues of his 'Shifting City' and 'Pleasures Of Electricity' albums released on the same date in expanded 2-CD editions. John Foxx will also feature in BBC4's 'Synth Britannia' documentary which will air on October 16th. See NEWS for the full tracklisting of all three releases.

KRAFTWERK will reissue digitally remastered editions of their classic albums in October. The special editions of 'Autobahn', 'Radio-Activity', 'Trans Europe Express', 'The Man Machine', 'Computer World', 'Techno Pop', 'The Mix' and 'Tour De France' will be released as individual albums packaged in special slipcases featuring newly expanded artwork and previously unseen images on October 12th, and together in an 8-CD boxset on November 16th.

MIDNIGHT OIL's classic single 'Beds Are Burning' has been covered by a group of artists - including DURAN DURAN's SIMON LE BON, BOB GELDOF and THE SCORPIONS - for release as a special single to raise awareness of global warming. The single will be available as a free download from early October.

ELVIS COSTELLO is set to release a series of live albums, drawn from classic bootlegs, starting with 'Live At The El Mocambo' on September 29th which features a 1978 show recorded in Toronto.

DURAN DURAN are lining up special editions of their albums 'Duran Duran', 'Seven And The Ragged Tiger' and 'Notorious' for release in the first half of next year.

We can now reveal that Will Young is gearing up for the release of 'Hopes and Fears' - the new single from his forthcoming album 'The Hits'.

The brand new track was written by Stew Jackson and Yolanda Quarty of Phantom Limb - who you may remember will be supporting Will on tour later this year. The track also features production from Robot Club.

GARY NUMAN, NEIL TENNANT, VINCE CLARKE, MARTIN GORE, PHIL OAKEY and BERNARD SUMNER will all appear as guests on a forthcoming BBC4 documentary entitled 'Synth Britannia' which will set out to trace the beginnings of the synth revolution of the late seventies and early eighties. The show will air on October 16th, see NEWS for more information.

TOYAH's THE HUMANS project will release a cover of Nancy Sinatra's 'These Boots Are Made For Walking', featuring ROBERT FRIPP on guitar, as a digital single on September 21st. The band will also release a new edition of their album 'We Are The Humans', including the new track, in October. The new edition will be available online exclusively from RememberTheEighties.com in a couple of weeks!

TEARS FOR FEARS are looking into playing a run of dates in Singapore, Manila and Australia in the early part of next year with tentative plans to play on the US East coast in the summer.

BANANARAMA and BONNIE TYLER will both appear on the bill of a special charity show, 'Women of Rock', which is due to take place at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 1st. Other artists on the bill include Mel C, Joss Stone and Jamelia.

SALT-N-PEPA, currently in the middle of a series of US shows, are planning UK and European dates for the early part of 2010.

MADNESS have added a London show to their annual Christmas tour of the UK and will play at the O2 Arena on September 18th. See GIGS for all the tour dates. The band will also release a new CD/DVD hits compilation 'Total Madness' on September 21st, see NEWS for the full tracklisting.

THE BEE GEES' Robin and Barry Gibb are said to be reuniting for a series of live shows, their first since the death of their brother and former Bee Gee, Maurice Gibb. The band have said that plans are being made however no details about any shows have yet emerged.

DEACON BLUE, MIDGE URE, HUE AND CRY, LLOYD COLE and THE BLUEBELLS are among acts appearing at a series of dates in Scotland under the banner 'Homecoming Live' which will celebrate the Scottish music of the last three decades.

EDWYN COLLINS has announced a Scottish tour, plus dates in London and Manchester, to take place in October. See GIGS for all the dates.

NEW ORDER's PETER HOOK will publish his account of the extraordinary story of Manchester's Haçienda nightclub on October 5th and will promote the book - 'The Haçienda - How Not To Run A Club' - with a series of signings, Q&A sessions and DJ sets around the country. Hook has also compiled and mixed 'Haçienda – Acid House Classics', a double CD of many of the greatest Haçienda acid classics from artists including A Guy Called Gerald, Fast Eddie, Phuture, Adonis, and New Order themselves.

THE HUMAN LEAGUE, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN and HAPPY MONDAYS are all to perform at the forthcoming Dubai Sound City festival which runs in various venues around the city between November 5th and 7th.

BERLIN have released a live CD/DVD package entitled 'All The Way In' which features the band playing live in Los Angeles in April of this year. See NEWS for the full CD and DVD tracklistings.

THE BELOVED are working on new material, their first since the release of their 1996 album 'X', and are previewing three new tracks on their MySpace page. See NEWS for the link.

SINEAD O'CONNOR has teamed up with ADAM AND THE ANTS' MARCO PIRRONI's THE WOLFMEN on the new Wolfmen single 'Jackie, Is It My Birthday?' which is scheduled for release on October 5th. The track is one of a number recorded by the band and produced by The Dandy Warhols' Courtney Taylor-Taylor.

SHEENA EASTON's 1980 album 'Take My Time' will be reissued in an expanded edition - featuring four bonus tracks - on October 19th. See NEWS on the website for the full tracklisting.

BOOK OF LOVE have announced a reunion show at New York's Highline Ballroom on September 27th to mark the reissue of their Sire Records catalogue. The albums -'Book of Love', 'Lullaby', 'Candy Carol' and 'Lovebubble' - have all been reissued and digitally remastered and feature bonus tracks, rare live recordings and remixes (including a rare Daniel Miller remix of 'I Touch Roses' included on the new edition of their eponymous debut album).

MORRISSEY will release an 18-track compilation of key b-sides from his last three studio albums on October 26th. 'Swords' will be released on CD and vinyl and initial quantities of the CD will include a bonus disc containing eight tracks recorded live in Warsaw last year.
