????Geri Halliwell has announced her retirement from the music business and put the dampers on a Spice Girls revival. In an interview with OK! magazine, Halliwell said she had no musical ambitions and no desire to record another solo album.

She said: "As far as music is concerned, I feel like I've given it my best. When I see how desperate people are for that chance, I realise I've had my turn and now I have to let it go."

Halliwell also revealed that the Spice Girls would have reunited for last year's Live 8 charity concert, but that former bandmate Mel B pulled out.

29 Nov 2006 - ABBA Museum In Sweden

A museum dedicated to the music and career of ABBA is to open in Stockholm, Sweden.

The museum, which will feature interactive exhibits based around the pop band's music, as well as original clothes and instruments, will open in the Swedish capital in 2008.

In a joint statement, the band's four former members, Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Reuss said they were fully behind the venture.

This read: "It's great that someone feels like taking on our musical history and making it accessible."

????After winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, ABBA went on to become Sweden's biggest export with such hit songs as "Dancing Queen" and "Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)".

The group has gone on to sell around 370 million records in total.

The idea for the venture was hatched by Swedish entrepreneurs Ewa Wigenheim-Westman and Ulf Westman after visiting Liverpool's Beatles' museum.

Westman said: "This will be quite a tourist attraction - a real international magnet. We're counting on 500,000 visitors annually after opening in 2008."

24 Nov 2006 - TOTP Christmas Special

A "Top Of The Pops" Christmas special will be screened next month, it has been announced.

The show, which was axed earlier this year, despite being the most famous music TV programme in the world, will reveal the 2006 festive Number One.

The Killers, Scissor Sisters, Razorlight and Gnarls Barkley are all set to appear on the one-hour special, which will be presented by Fearne Cotton, Edith Bowman and Reggie Yates.

A BBC spokesperson explained why they had decided to continue tradition with the festive programme, before insisting there are no plans for a full resurrection. "We're doing it because the Christmas show is such an institution - Christmas day wouldn't be the same without it. But we have no plans to revive the weekly show."

The last episode of "Top Of The Pops" was broadcast in September after 42 years on-air.
