Rising South Wales (UK) synth-pop trio Heartbreak City are proud to announce the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Heartbreak City.

Effortlessly blending 80s and 90s retrowave nostalgia with soaring pop melodies, pulsating synths, and emotionally charged lyrics, Heartbreak City is a bold and vibrant debut that places the band firmly on the map of modern synth-pop revivalists.

The record includes the acclaimed singles that have already begun to define the band’s signature sound: Horizon, Run To You, Sleeping Awake, Spencer Street and Pamela. Each has earned fans across the UK and beyond for their outstanding production and heartfelt vocal performances.

The album’s focus track What’s it Gonna Be! captures the essence of Heartbreak City at full power: neon-soaked keys, irresistible hooks and a driving chorus destined to be played on repeat. Listeners can also look forward to brand-new tracks, including the uplifting synthwave track Imagine, the emotionally raw synth ballads A Thousand Tears and Macy, the atmospheric sax led Cassandra.

Collectively, these songs showcase the trio’s dynamic range, from intimate reflection to magnetic synth pop. With its lush soundscapes, infectious rhythms and stunning vocal performances, Heartbreak City is a fantastic debut album that stands ready to captivate longtime synth-pop fans and new listeners alike.

Love On The Edge Of Desire marks The Lightning Kids at their most “band” yet – recorded together in London’s The Dairy & ZigZag studio’s with the band performing on all songs, complimented by the addition of live drums, bass, guitars and featuring The 1975’s John Waugh on Saxophone across 3 songs.

Highlights include the anthemic singles “Youth”, “Desire”, “Lost”, and “Radio”, alongside two collaborations with Kidburn on “(I Don’t Wanna) Go” and “Boys”. New song “Chicago” channels lo-fi indie-pop, while “Wait” sounds like vintage to 1989-era Taylor Swift, ‘Lights Out’ a hidden track from iconic ‘Drive’ soundtrack and closer “Run” brings the album full circle in a reprise of Youth.

Love On The Edge Of Desire is The Lightning Kids’ most emotional rollercoaster ride yet.

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to drop a message to let you know that my new ambient album ‘Stay Warm’ is out today.

This project came together right after I got back from a trip to New York with my wife in October and it ended up being the quickest album I’ve ever made. Finished in just under two weeks … crazy. I think a big part of that is finally I was making music I genuinely would listen to myself. When you’re creating a sound that just flows out naturally rather than forcing it … the process is just easier.

So if you need something to unwind to, to think to, or to keep you company on cold dark evenings, I hope this album brings you some calm.

Thank you, as always, for listening and supporting.

Stay Warm out there this winter. Take care.

Maxx Parker
