'The Darkest Place' is the first single from the upcoming remix album by Bunny X and was thoughtfully and expertly remixed by Ukrainian spacesynth artist Earmake (NewRetroWave). Set in distant space, the futuresynth track was loosely based on and inspired by The Expanse book series, written by James S.A. Corey, and centers around a protagonist on a desperate, decade-long hunt across different galaxies to find their missing loved one. While the original track is moody and mid-tempo, Earmake's remix creates an even more atmospheric sound with a pulsating rhythm and driving pace, prompting the listener to imagine they too are on a perilous journey into deep space.

Tommy Countach teamed up with fellow Berlin Synthwave artist Kid Macdonald (member of Massive Z) to produce a cover of Owl City’s classic tune Fireflies. In their version they combine both their vocals stacked in big harmonies, accompanied with soft rock guitars and 80s synth sounds. The song balances between a classic retro feel in songwriting and sound design as well as a modern touch from the production side.

The song was produced in Macdonald’s and Tommy’s home studios in Berlin. Kid Macdonald did a basic layout and sent it over to Tommy to record analog synths and vocals as well as mixing and mastering. To keep it as authentic as possible they used 80s synths like an Oberheim OBX, Roland D-50 and a Roland JX8-P from the mid 80s.

With their very own version of ‘Fireflies’ the duo wants to appreciate Owl City’s masterpiece 14 years after its release and also set stone for possible upcoming collabs between the two.

There’s a place in Calgary, the Gem of the New West out on the Canadian prairies in the shadow of the illustrious Rockies. A street lit by the glow of neon lights. Wet pavement. The muted sounds of subwoofers coming from venues along the strip. During the ‘80s, 11th Avenue was Calgary’s nightlife hotspot. It’s where the nighthawks went to smoke cigarettes, listen to music, and to share drinks and subtle whispers with strangers in the dark. After the sun went down, on hot summer night or during early winter evenings when frost encrusted the concrete, strangers and friends alike met to experience a beautiful afterglow after solemn sunsets in a city left behind by the rest of the world.

After the oil bust, 11th Avenue lost its luster. The nightlife was vanquished. The strangers disappeared into the shadows. The subwoofers were silenced. The neon signs were extinguished. And life moved on.

But 11th Avenue is slowly returning to its previous glory. It is known as Electric Avenue. And the sixth full-length studio record from Moonrunner83 pays homage to its story, its loneliness, and its power.

It's our story. Yours. Mine. Ours. The story of a city forgotten. A city crumbling. A city rebuilt. The epicenter of a magical and musical eventide. Its the electricity runs in our veins.

It's Kay's most personal song and it was a very difficult process. It took months to produce this track together with Sami! "When I first listened to the final version of MEMORIES, I literally was dancing to it with tears in my eyes." And MEMORIES is very danceable! A breakup is never easy, but Kay's intention was NOT to compose a heartbreaking ballad about it. And although this track has a very sentimental undertone, it's still powerful and energetic with a touch of trance and a glimpse of hope!
