"I'm releasing the next song from my forthcoming album 'Fun City' which is 'I Used To Be Cool', a disco-tinged, tongue in cheek pop song to soundtrack your virtual pool parties or rooftop BBQs. I'm really proud of this song and hope it brings some sun-kissed joy."

11 Jul 2020 - LAU - We Had Magic

We Had Magic, the second single taken from LAU's forthcoming debut album, finds the songwriter and singer in a more retrospective mood than the previous offering. In the same tradition of Ultravox 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes' or Robyn classic 'Dancing On My Own', the song describes the end of a relationship, at the beat of big snares, sharp synth leads and a meaty arpeggiated bass line. We Had Magic depicts the exact moment when we realize there's nothing else you can say or do to make the other person stay. Perhaps the most intimate output to date from LAU, this is the making of a future classic.

10 Jul 2020 - Oblique - Black Heart

Black Heart finds Oblique in a much darker mood, mixing a very distinctive production that blends Synthwave and Retrowave genres with an acute sense of nostalgia. Black Heart is the most introspective and poignant offering to date.

Depicting the dramatic end of a relationship where there seems to be no redeeming qualities about the former love interest, there definitely is an empowering message within the lyrics 'You can't break my heart.'

Black Heart is scheduled to come out on 10th July via Aztec Records and the EP comes packed with remixes from very renowned producers of the Synthwave and Retrowave scene such as Carbon Killer, Thought Beings, Noiseed, Sauvage, Carlos Bayona and Aztec Record's own Zenith Volt.
