Saint Etienne - Her Winter Coat
It's almost that time of year again and as usual Saint Etienne have news to tell you.
Firstly, they're releasing a Christmas single in December that goes on pre-sale via our online music shop from 5pm (UK time) this Friday 19th November here.
It's called Her Winter Coat and will be accompanied by a beautiful new film by Alasdair McLellan.
Bob Stanley: "We love Christmas, as you probably know, and it feels like it's been a while since our last really Christmassy Christmas record. But I think Pete has done a properly beautiful, icy, frosted, festive job on 'Her Winter Coat'. Alasdair's film for it is the icing on the yule log. I hope you love it as much as I do. We're really looking forward to playing it live!"
Pete Wiggs: "To complement 'Her Winter Coat', Sarah and Gus Bousfield have come up with the incredibly catchy 'A Kiss Like This', laden with swirling hibernal synths, and for a touch of Cold War frost we have the brooding melancholy instrumental 'Lillehammer' to complete the package. Hope you love 'em all!"
Due to current lead times on pressing vinyl they'll be releasing the single as a four track CD EP plus two flexi discs - in Christmassy green for 'Her Winter Coat' and red for 'A Kiss Like This'. All three will be available to buy individually or as a bundle and we've decided to donate all proceeds from sales to the The Trussell Trust who do amazing work preventing hunger across the UK.

- New release on Cherry Red's dedicated '90s imprint 90/9
- A double CD Digipak edition of the early 1990's electronic pop duo, Banderas featuring their only album, 'Ripe'.
- Including the Top 20 hit and perennial club classic 'This Is Your Life', which was originally released in 1991 on London Records.
Banderas are Sally Herbert and Caroline Buckley, who met while playing for The Communards. Once signed to London, they released three singles from 'Ripe', which was produced by Stephen Hague and features musical contributions from Jimmy Somerville, Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner.
This 2CD deluxe edition features the original ten album tracks and a comprehensive collection of bonus material from the period. CD1 features the album, accompanied by five bonus tracks: the B-sides 'Bide Your Time' and 'Nice To Know', 7" single versions of 'She Sells' and 'May This Be Your Last Sorrow' plus the extended 'Slightly Wacky Mix' of 'This Is Your Life'.
CD2 is crammed full of remixes including six versions of their top 20 hit single 'This Is Your Life' remixed by Heller & Farley and Less Stress, plus three 12" only Italian remixes from Joe T Vannelli and others. Two Apollo 440 remixes of the band's second single, 'She Sells' feature, together with an alternative 7" version and Less Stress and Smith & Mighty remixes of 'May This Be Your Last Sorrow'.
The fold-out four-panel digipack expands and reworks the striking original album artwork and includes a booklet with track commentaries written by Sally and Caroline plus an interview conducted by Jimmy Somerville, an old friend of the duo.
