'Promised' is the second collaboration between retrowave/Italo disco duo Bunny X & retrowave/80s eclectics, Thought Beings. Following the release of their 1980s Hi-NRG inspired single ‘Cross The Line’, released in December 2022, the Aztec Records labelmates saw fit to release another similarly-styled track.

Not unlike ‘Cross The Line’, 'Promised' highlights the best of the 1980s with synthetic disco, freestyle and Hi-NRG elements reminiscent of Johnny O, Cynthia, Noel and of course early Madonna.

Also similar to ‘Cross The Line’, the lyrics in 'Promised' describe a love story gone awry due to hidden secrets and lies. ‘Promised’ lets us know that some promises are better left unsaid when “words are just weapons”.

Honeybeard - Like A Fire (Alex Vecchietti Remix)

This track is a high-energy electronic remix that takes the original ethereal ballad and transforms it into a dance-worthy anthem. The lyrics, which describe watching someone from afar who shines like a star but is out of reach, are set to a fast-paced beat and layered with pulsing synths and catchy hooks. The imagery of the deep cold and the reference to a fire is still present but now it gives a feeling of intensity and energy. The overall mood of the track is one of longing and desire, but with an added layer of excitement and urgency. Perfect for a late-night dance party.
