SUZANNE VEGA has announced the first date of her 2005 tour of the UK. The singer songwriter will play Salisbury City Hall on July 5th with more dates expected to be announced very soon.

MIDGE URE will release a live DVD 'If I Was - Sampled Looped and Trigger Happy on Tour' in March next year through German label Hypertension. The DVD will be packaged with a live CD featuring a different show from the same tour will feature a series of 'extras' including an interview with the former ULTRAVOX frontman and a 40 minute 'on the road documentary'.

KYLIE MINOGUE has added a sixth show to her London run of concerts as part of her 2005 'Showgirl' tour. Kylie will play the additional show on May 7th.

ALTERED IMAGES, THE EURYTHMICS, WET WET WET, SIMPLE MINDS, BIG COUNTRY, AZTEC CAMERA and BRONSKI BEAT are just a few of the bands who have been shortlisted for the title of 'Best Scottish Band Of All Time' by Scotland's 'The List' magazine. DAVID BOWIE, REM, and NINE INCH NAILS are all rumoured to be appearing at California's Coachella Festival on the weekend of 30th April next year. The names are said to be listed on an official document leaked to the press. TEARS FOR FEARS who were also on the list have announced that at this stage they will not be playing.

DURAN DURAN side project THE POWER STATION see the reissue of their eponymously titled album on February 21st next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release. The album will be issued in an expanded double disc format featuring bonus tracks and a DVD.

TEARS FOR FEARS have entered the UK's 'Cool Cuts' dance chart at number one this week with remixes of 'Shout' from Skylarkk, Jakatta and Fergie. A commercial release is expected to be announced soon.

EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL are to release a new compilation 'Adapt or Die - 10 Years of Remixes' which will feature a number of new and previously unreleased remixes. The band currently have no plans to record any new material or tour.

SABRINA's pop hit 'Boys (Summertime Love)' as covered by The Cheeky Girls may not see the light of day after the producer who worked on the cover version is seeking to have the release stopped over claims of unpaid fees. The single was slated to be The Cheeky Girls' Christmas smash.

PET SHOP BOYS have come second in The Telegraph's list of the best cover versions ever. Their version of Elvis' 'You Were Always On My Mind' was pipped to the post by Jimi Hendrix's version of 'All ALong The Watchtower' in the poll that was compiled for the newspaper by a panel of music critics. SOFT CELL came sixth with their version of 'Tainted Love', with KATE BUSH's 'Rocket Man', THE HOUSEMARTINS 'Caravan Of Love', ROXY MUSIC's 'Jealous Guy', SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES' 'Dear Prudence' and THE COMMUNARDS' 'Don't Leave Me This Way' all gaining places in the top fifty.
