Why Back This Project?

Alan Dreezer says about this Kickstarter campaign for his new album:

"This album exists because of independence, belief, and community.

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes is my third album and the most honest work I’ve created to date. It’s been written, recorded, and produced without a label — guided purely by my creative freedom and the desire to make something meaningful.

This Kickstarter is here to help manufacture the physical editions of the album: vinyl, CDs, artwork, and exclusive merchandise. Physical releases still matter — they allow independent artists to sustain their work and offer something tangible and lasting to the people who support it.

One of the most exciting elements of this campaign is an exclusive remix of an album track by Grammy-nominated producer Royce Wood Jr. Collaborating with Royce Wood Jr is a genuine dream-come-true moment in my journey — something I never imagined when I first started making music. This remix will not be available on streaming platforms and is exclusive to Kickstarter backers.

There are a range of reward options available, from a £6 digital download (including the exclusive remix), through to CDs with a 12-page booklet, vinyl edition also with a 12 page booklet including lyrics, exclusive album logo T-shirts and hoodies, and bundle options for those who want more.

The highest tier includes a FREE signed artwork print, created especially for this release. A very limited number of prints will also be available separately for £20.

Backing this project means more than pre-ordering an album. It means supporting independent music, helping bring this record into the world properly, and becoming part of its story.

Thank you for being here — your support truly makes all the difference".

It's time to remember...

Scritti Politti's debut album, Songs To Remember, is finally returning to vinyl. Repressed and released on 10 April, the new edition has been fully remastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios, a process personally overseen by Green Gartside.

Songs To Remember can be pre-order here: https://scrittipolitti.ffm.to/songstoremember

The reissue will feature an embossed sleeve, including a pictogram of a bee, in line with the original 1982 pressing. The album will also be available on digital and CD formats again. Songs To Remember was originally released by Rough Trade Records, and the label have overseen this new edition.

"Mark E Smith, a Rough Trade artist at the time, once said to me, 'Scritti Politti have the best rhythm section in rock music,'" explains the label's founder Geoff Travis. "He didn’t mention Green Gartside, so I don’t know what he thought of him. I do know that at Rough Trade we were all in thrall to Green Gartside’s honeyed voice and his brilliant lyric writing. These were heady days when the amount of sheer talent walking into the Rough Trade universe was simply overwhelming. None more so than Green Gartside who epitomised the intelligent assault on the citadel of pop music perfection. I remember being very proud of Songs To Remember during a time when it was still a fairly new experience for us to be releasing full albums into the world".

Supernatural Lover is both excess and confession, an electric manifesto about what remains when the night is over and the heart is still beating faster

SONIC SEDUCER

This style is exactly what gothics have always avoided. And yet both this sound, KN/GHTS and thus also 'Supernatural Lover' clearly belong to the center of our community! Supernatural Lover' by KN/GHTS was missing from the "Stranger Things" playlist!

SCHWARZE WELLE

A charming but frenetic live performer who combines classic Italo, HI-NRG, synthpop and new wave

THE ELECTRICITY CLUB

Like poppers as music
