One Blue Voice

Celebrating the success of the Top-Ten Gold selling album ‘Voice’, Alison Moyet has, for the first time ever, recorded a unique version of her sell out ‘One Blue Voice’ UK live concert tour. The concert was filmed on June 6th 2005 in front of a specially invited audience, at The Hospital in Covent Garden.

Performing with an eight-piece band including a string quartet, the material includes tracks from her album 'Voice', and songs from the acclaimed Brit nominated CD, 'Hometime'. Bonus tracks include previously unrecorded live classics from her back catalogue.

This is an intimate concert, the result of which is a stylised, beautifully lit performance of Alison Moyet on spectacular form.

??Memory Place (with Paul Haig)

Assembled from the variety of
sessions recorded by the two
singers between 1993 and
1995, when both found
themselves at loose ends
and disenchanted by the
record business, Memory
Palace makes for both a
welcome addition to Billy
Mackenzie's tragically limited
canon and a fine example of
Paul Haig's own magpie-like
musical pursuits.

??Auchtermatic

Posthumous collection from
the ex-Associates singer.
These 10 songs were all
written and recorded during
the last chapter of his life,
all coming from Billy's
single-minded musical ideal.
This is the ideal Billy MacKenzie
album that should have been.
'Pain In Any Language' was
recorded with Apollo Four Forty.
It was the last thing he recorded,
and the last lyric he wrote.

??Transmission Impossible

Many of the mixes on this album
originate from Billy's personal
collection, none of which have
been previously available.
Although they may occasionally
sound less polished than
subsequent posthumous remixes,
it was decided that too many posthumous 'fingerprints' would
simply serve to impair the
greatness of the performances herein. And a little bit of tape
hiss never hurt anyone.

Singer/songwriter Mark Rogers, under the name Hollywood Beyond, gave it his best shot on 'If', an energetic, soulful techno-rock record.
Mark Rogers' voice isn't altogether distinctive, but he croons and belts ably enough to be heard. The music likewise bends toward facelessness, but it's slickness, verve and variety keep it from being boring.
Overambitious and premature, perhaps, but not at all bad.

Though stardom has evaded her, English vocalist Mica Paris has a wonderful voice and individualistic delivery and approach. She sang in the Spirit of Watts gospel group before touring and recording in the late '80s with Hollywood Beyond. She signed with 4th and Broadway/Island in the '80s and then issued her debut 'So Good'. Her second LP, 'Contribution', was released in 1990. Mica Paris moved to Polydor for her third LP, Whisper a Prayer, in 1993.

Now she has a new single, released on September 19th, through Sanctuary Records.
