YAZOO have announced an appearance at Spain's Sónar festival on June 21st and have also confirmed that they will take the reunion tour to the USA with news of dates there to be announced shortly. See GIGS for all the dates confirmed so far.

THE CURE and REM will headline this year's Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington which takes place on May 24th to 26th.

HEAVEN 17 will play a second HERE AND NOW show at Shrewsbury's The Quarry on July 12, on a bill which also features RICK ASTLEY, BANANARAMA, MIDGE URE, NICK HEYWARD, T'PAU and TOYAH. Another HERE AND NOW show has also been announced at Ascot Racecourse on August 9th and will feature KID CREOLE AND THE COCONUTS, BANANARAMA, BELINDA CARLISLE, PAUL YOUNG, ABC, T'PAU and TOYAH.

CHRIS DIFFORD will put out his first solo album for five years on April 7th when he releases 'The Last Temptation Of Chris' on the Stiff label. The former SQUEEZE mainman will also play an extensive UK tour in April and May with Boo Hewerdine who co-write and produced the new album. See GIGS for all the dates.

THE BLOW MONKEYS have finished recording their new album and have announced two London shows at the Jazz Cafe in May. See GIGS for the dates.

ERASURE will release a live DVD entitled 'Live At The Royal Albert Hall' on April 7th. The release features the duo's 2007 concert at the prestigious venue and contains live versions of all their biggest hits as well as a behind the scenes documentary. In addition, costumes worn by Vince and Andy on the 2007 tour are to be auctioned for charity via eBay with more details to be announced shortly. See NEWS for the full DVD tracklisting.

MADONNA's new album will be called 'Hard Candy' and is to be released on April 28th on the back of a new single, a collaboration with Justin Timberlake, entitled 'Four Minutes'.

REM have announced a UK stadium tour to take place in August and will see the band play huge shows in Manchester, Cardiff, Southampton and Twickenham. See GIGS for all the dates.

SIMPLY RED have released a new edition of their classic 'Stars' album featuring two CDs and a DVD containing the original album remastered, session performances, live material, videos, dance mixes and photographs. Meanwhile frontman MICK HUCKNALL will release a solo album of Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland songs entitled 'Tribute To Bobby' on May 19th which he will follow with a solo tour which currently takes in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. One of the most successful bands of their generation; Simple Minds will take a break from the preparations of their new album to celebrate their 30th Anniversary with a series of six rare UK concerts during November and December.

The concerts celebrate 30 glorious years dating back to the first time Simple Minds played their very first concert on January 17th at the Satellite City Club in Glasgow, as the support act to Steel Pulse.
??
Simple Minds will perform for the first time the entirety of their multi-million selling 1982 album 'New Gold Dream' featuring the hits Promised You a Miracle, Glittering Prize, and Someone, Somewhere (In Summertime).

The second half of the concert will see the band perform some of their best known songs from their classic albums staring off with 'Life in a Day' (1979), 'Reel To Reel Cacophony' (1979), 'Empires & Dance' (1980), right up to their groundbreaking first album with Virgin, 'Sons & Fascination' (1980) featuring the hit Love Song, plus songs from the album 'Sparkle in the Rain' (1984) that includes the hits Waterfront and Up On The Catwalk, as well as the U.S. No.1 hit single Don't You (Forget About Me) (1985).

The band will also perform songs from the album Once Upon A Time (1985) featuring the massive global anthem Alive and Kicking.?? But that's not all.?? The band will also perform songs like Belfast Child from 1989's 'Street Fighting Years' right up to 2005's return-to-form album 'Black & White 050505' featuring the songs Home and Stranger.

YouTube is home to the new video of Hercules And Love Affair 's forthcoming single 'Blind ', featuring Antony (of Antony & The Johnsons ) on guest vocals. It stars up and coming actress Jaime Winstone , daughter of world famous actor Ray. The single is released digitally on Sunday March 2nd, with physical formats on sale from Monday March 3rd, followed a week later on the 10th by the self title debut album. BOY GEORGE, EDDY GRANT and SQUEEZE will be among the acts appearing at this year's WOMAD Festival which will take place at Charlton park in Wiltshire over the last weekend of July.

YAZOO have announced new UK date and a series of European shows as part of their forthcoming reunion tour, the duo have announced a gig in Plymouth and shows in Ireland, Germany and Denmark and there are more shows in the pipeline. See GIGS for all the dates.

DURAN DURAN are the subject of a forthcoming documentary entitled 'Something You Should Know' which will blend live footage and interviews from the band with interviews with fans and a number of celebrity supporters including No Doubt, Korn and the Scissor Sisters.

FREEBASS, the new project from NEW ORDER's PETER HOOK, THE SMITHS' ANDY ROURKE and THE STONE ROSES' MANI have recruited former Haven singer Gary Briggs to front the group.JOHNNY HATES JAZZ will release a remstered edition of their classic 'Turn Back The Clock' on May 5th.

UB40, JOOLS HOLLAND with MARC ALMOND, STATUS QUO and DEEP PURPLE will all appear at London's ExCel as part of the entertainment surrounding July's British International Motor Show.

ADAM ANT is reportedly working on a book with the working title 'Adam Ant Art' which will look at Adam's own artistic influences and inspirations as well as his own artwork, sketches, video storyboards and lyrics. SINEAD O'CONNOR, BONO, THE EDGE, GAVIN FRIDAY and CHRIS DE BURGH have all contributed to an Irish charity single - 'The Ballad of Ronnie Drew' - to benefit The Dubliners' Ronnie Drew who is suffering from cancer.

MIDGE URE, HOWARD JONES, PAUL YOUNG, NICK HEYWARD, T'PAU and CHINA CRISIS will all play at the first Irish HERE AND NOW show which will take place at Killarney's INEC Arena on May 24th.

JOHN FOXX - who will play a series of Australian shows in May (see GIGS for all the dates) - will perform sections from his forthcoming novel 'Quiet Man', playing grand piano to accompany a pre-recorded reading of the text accompanied by projected images, at Leeds' Victoria Hall on November 7th.

HALL AND OATES are to receive the BMI Icons award at the music industry's prestigious annual awards which will take place in Los Angeles on May 20th.
