Shame On You (To Keep My Love From Me)
??

Produced by Nellee Hooper, with Bono at the helm as executive producer, 'Ten Feet High' reveals Andrea Corr's wealth of hidden riches, a natural gift for lyrical storytelling, and a voice that errs more on the side of deadpan and understatement than traditional diva delivery.

After twelve years and thirty million albums, The Corrs decided it was time for their much-mooted hiatus following the release of 2005's 'Home'. Each one of them went home to Ireland, but whilst Sharon, Caroline and Jim began to raise their families, Andrea undertook a new life of her own as a solo artist. When mutual friend Bono introduced Andrea to Nellee Hooper, who she had particularly admired for his work with Björk and Massive Attack, a solid union was formed. As Andrea says, "with this album, I've written the story and Nellee has painted the picture."

'Shame On You (To Keep My Love From Me)', the first single, is a deceptively pretty song full of fluttery musical notes, its very lightness masking a much heavier message. "It's about conscription and war," she explains, "a protest song through the prism of love, and how these men and women who go off to war are leaving behind partners they will never marry and children they will never have." The rest of the album is a kaleidoscope of colours and style, with Andrea weaving her multiple characters through each song, at once both playful and sombre. 'I Do', about a fairytale marriage, is delicate and bewitching, a song as light as air. 'Anybody There' features some understated pining ("Will there be anybody there to hold me?") delivered adorably. 'Champagne Through A Straw' a wry dissertation on the vagaries of a celebrity lifestyle ("I've got my all-over tan and my tummy-tuck/ Big house in the country, with expensive bags for my scary little dogs..."), and the closing 'Ideal World' is a poignant ballad about the hopeless pursuit of a perfect life. Then there is the one cover on the album, and it's a radical one: a startling re-reading of the Squeeze classic 'Take Me I'm Yours' that she makes all her own.

Simply Red

??
Single - Stay

??
Album - Stay

A welcome return for a band who remain one of the UK's most enduring, definitive and successful talents, 'Stay' is the eagerly anticipated brand new album from Simply Red, following-up their massively successful 'Home' album.

'Stay' is an album full of soon-to-be classic Simply Red songs; the collection is incredibly strong, with 10 original new recordings and one cover, 'Debris', a much loved track from the Faces 70's album 'A Nod Is As Good As A Wink'. The album also includes the single 'So Not Over You', a stunning classic ballad which was set to storm the airplay charts.

Mutya Buena

??
Single - Real Girl

??
Album - Real Girl

When Mutya Buena, the 22-year-old from Kingsbury, north-west London left the Sugababes, she was leaving more than a Triple Platinum pop group with an international fanbase and a healthy haul of awards. She was leaving a life she had known, in one form or another, since she'd been eleven years old.

'Real Girl', the debut solo album from Mutya follows the single of the same name that features a sample from Lenny Kravitz's global chart-topper 'It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over'. The album also includes collaborations with timeless voice George Michael (whose only previous female collaborators were Aretha Franklin and Mary J Blige, so she's in good soul-girl company!), Brit Award winner Amy Winehouse on 'B-Boy Baby' (which samples The Ronettes' 'Be My Baby') and Groove Armada- whose partnership on 'Song 4 Mutya (Out Of COntrol)' will be Mutya's second single and is already being heralded as a monster hit by NME and Pop Justice.

Scissor Sisters

??
Single - Kiss You Off

??
Album - Ta-Dah

The UK's best loved pop stars are back with new single 'Kiss You Off'. It's a change in style for Scissor Sisters as Ana Matronic takes care of the lead vocals on the track that draws from the new wave scene of the early 80s and is the ultimate break-up song. "It’s not a love song, it’s a falling-out-of-love song", she laughs. "It’s about knowing you’re better than how you’re being treated in a relationship, and getting the f*ck out. And then telling him to kiss your ass!". The single is taken from Scissor Sisters second album ‘Ta-Dah’ which has now sold 2 ½ million copies worldwide – 1.4 million of those in the UK alone.

Melanie C

??
Single - Carolyna

??
Single - Carolyna

One of the UK's most dynamic, iconic and successful female singer-songwriters, Melanie C follows her poptastic interpretation of 'I Want Candy' with the blistering new single 'Carolyna'. The second track to be taken from her impressive new LP 'This Time', it's an infectious, dynamic slice of guitar-led summer pop.

Written by Melanie, Steve Mac & Paul Gendler - her long-time guitarist since 1997 and the very first Spice Girls shows – it's one of the album's effortless highlights. Opening with supple guitar chords, it reaches fever pitch over a razor-sharp chorus and instantaneous melody. Produced by Steve Mac, whose credits include Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson, 'Carolyna' is also the perfect reflection of the new album. Featuring 12 stunning pop tracks and a shimmering acoustic-led sound, it's her first album since 2005's platinum 'Beautiful Intentions'.

Manic Street Preachers return to an ambitious, edgier and energetic rock sound this spring with new album 'Send Away The Tigers' . The first single to be taken from the album, 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' is a duet with Nina Persson of The Cardigans, of whom the band have been long time fans. The song was recorded in New York earlier this year and is described by Nicky Wire as "Keith Moon drums, Pete Townsend power cords, sonically similar to Hole's 'Celebrity Skin' - 'Everything Must Go' era – euphoric rock??? lyrically a two-way conversation in my head about love, religion, democracy and Richey".
