Lisa Loeb first ascended to national prominence in 1994, when her single “Stay (I Missed You)” (from the soundtrack to the grunge-era comedy Reality Bites ) made Lisa Loeb the first (and to date, only) unsigned artist to score that top slot on the chart.

Since that breakthrough, Lisa Loeb has released a steady stream of top-shelf singer-songwriter jams that have evolved along with her but still maintain a certain amount of that classic pre-millennial angst.

Her latest album, No Fairy Tale ( click here to buy ), is her first grown-up album since 2004's excellent The Way It Really Is . (In the interim, she released two albums’ worth of songs aimed at kids.) It’s perhaps her punchiest album, buoyed by the lively, brisk production at the hand of New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert.

Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, have left Parlophone Records after 28 years and signed their forthcoming studio album Electric to Kobalt Label Services in a global deal.

The duo, who signed to Parlophone in 1985, have cloked up 42 Top 30 singles and four No.1s on the label.

Electric was produced by Stuart Price and will be released in June 2013. The band will embark on the “Electric” tour this year, which includes a night at London’s O2 Arena on June 18th.

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe said in a statement: “This is a very exciting point in our careers. We are hugely proud of the new album and are very pleased to be working in conjunction with Kobalt. We’d like to thank everyone we’ve worked with at Parlophone over the last 28 years both in the UK and abroad.

"When we signed to the label in 1985 we had no idea how long and successful a relationship we were embarking on. However it is also exciting now to commence a new phase working with a new team in a new business structure and we look forward to a creative and equally fulfilling relationship with Kobalt.”

Fierce leading lady Clairy Browne and her harmonizing girl group, the Bangin’ Rackettes, have been tearing down the house at venues all over??Australia since 2009 with highlights including touring with the Big Day Out, playing Golden Plains and Melbourne Festival. The nine piece rhythm and blues big band will take you though the hard-hitting sounds of northern soul, jump blues, doo-wop, ska and gospel with influences ranging from Etta James, Tina Turner and Prince to D’Angelo and Salt n’ Peppa.

The band have recently released their debut album, Baby Caught the Bus. The record has been in the making for two years and was recorded with and produced by the gifted, Steve Schram (Little Red, Little Birdy, Cat Empire, Eagle and the Worm, Ground Components). Baby Caught the Bus is an incredibly accomplished first release, moving through heart wrenching doo-wop wailing, to drunken pianos, party hysteria and tough, hard hitting soul. This collection of songs is delivered with dynamic vocal harmonies and the force of the rhythm section, with Clairy’s big soul voice and the horns leading the procession.
