13 Dec 2009 - A Message From Adele

??

Happy Christmas All!

I hope you all have a wonderful time and a good ole rest up. Over the last few months I've been lalalalalalaaaaaaing in the studio and packing as I'm moving house, again!! I also thought id try out being a pescetarian. I contemplated calling myself a vegetarian but I didn't want to be one of them veggies that goes on and on about being so but, then orders a sea bass or something at the table!?? Anyway, I failed. I did well for about a month though! I had sausages yesterday eeeeek! I started learning how to make nut roast so I'd have a yummy replacement for the turkey but, the thought of it simply sent me to sleep!

My little dog, Louie Armstrong, is doing very well. I had him castrated because he was particularly barky! He barks at any kind of animal on the tv, I haven't decided if he's really really clever for working out what they are or whether he's really really stupid for making a fuss over something that's 2d! Talking of 2d - did anyone see the channel4 3D week?? I bloody forgot to go get my free glasses from Sainsbury's!! I was gutted. How do I get hold of the JLS Beat Again video where they're popping out the screen and stuff?

The studio has been going great! I'm very excited and very thrilled with the new songs so far. I haven't started recording the actual record yet, just been writing and roughly putting them down. Hopefully, it'll be coming out next summer. Don't hold me to that. It'll come out when it's ready! Maybe 2013?? Who knows?

Has everyone done there xmas shopping yet? I did it all online. So much easier. My life has been taken over by Dorer The Explorer!! Percy the Pig and bloody twighlight!! Secretly the latter is allll forrrrr meeeeeeeee! I'm not sure how I became so obsessed with fictional vampires - I feel like I'm 11 again and am genuinely convinced Leonardo Dicaprio IS Jack in Titanic. Anyways - I bought my mum a car, she's had a little purple Ford Ka for about a decade. We called her Delilah. But her time has come and gone, so I upgraded her! I bought Louie a car seat belt!! Really I did!

Grammys 2010!!! I'm still recovering from last year, it hasn't even hit me I've been nominated again!! I didn't even know I was eligible, truly amazing! Thank you so much xx

I have to go now to set up my friend's tree - they're in Goa until tomorrow. Nice surprise I hope.

Have a brilliant Christmas and a great New Year.

All my love, Adele xx

Alphabeat will be kicking off not only the New Year, but the new DECADE by performing at a brand-spanking new winter festival. The Outside-In Festival is a day of chart-topping music at The Sage Gateshead on Saturday 30th January. Alphabeat join a fantastic line up that includes N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Pixie Lott, Lostprophets, Taio Cruz, and there are still more names to be announced!

With only 3000 tickets available, you better snap yours up quickly so you don't miss out on getting up close and personal with Alphabeat and the rest of the stellar line up.

If you can't make it, never fear! The event will be broadcast on Channel 4's T4, 4Music and The Box.

T4 website for all the details, and get your tickets NOW from The Sage Gateshead.

If you've ever wondered what Alphabeat like to listen to when they're not creating their own pop-filled hits, now's your chance to find out! The guys have put together a playlist of all their favourite tunes over at sharemyplaylists.com. It's a fabulous mix of upbeat songs that are perfect for the weekend, or in fact, any time you fancy getting your groove on! Check it out here.

Once you've given it a listen, we'd like to hear your own selection of favourite songs. Just create a playlist in Spotify and then add it to

Alphabeat Perform At Q The Music & The Little Noise Sessions

It's been a busy month for Alphabeat, who have been squeezing in electrifying performances wherever they can.

The guys wowed the crowd at the Hard Rock Café when they played all the classic Alphabeat hits plus an exciting selection of new tracks from 'The Spell' for Q The Music. Check out the
review and photos over on the Q website.

Alphabeat also performed at a very special charity gig in aid of Mencap. The Little Noise Sessions, held in the Union Chapel in London are a series of intimate acoustic concerts that raise bags of cash for a very good cause. The Independent has this to say about their performance: "the Danes' infectious Europop can't help but put a smile on the faces of the crowd." What better way is there to raise money for charity?! Watch the video
here (Alphabeat appear at 20.31mins).

As if that wasn't enough, Stine and Anders SG have popped up in an episode of "Steve Wants His Money" - a hilarious skit by We Are Scientists shown as part of Lil' MTV. Check out the episode
here.

Now that the year is drawing to a close, we want to know your highlights! Did you see them at one of the gigs mentioned above? Was the release of 'The Spell' single enough to get you jumping up and down with excitement?

Email us at
alphabeat.competition@googlemail.com with your Alphabeat Highlight of the Year, and we'll include the best in our Christmas mailer.

If you have any videos or pictures to go with your highlight, feel free to send those in too!

That's all from us this time, have a fabulous, poptastic week (all to the soundtrack of Alphabeat's playlist!)

09 Dec 2009 - Hue & Cry Update

????

We’ve been busy bees recently with all manner of promotion for ‘Xmasday’ and the History City Xmas Weekend so hopefully you’ll have read about us, heard us on the radio, or seen us on the TV!!

We've not been so busy that we've not been paying attention to the Hue and Cry Music Club where we’re thrilled to see that you all seem to be enjoying Xmasday and are loving the personalised Deluxe Limited Edition Gift Boxes. Every time we go near Blairhill HQ, we’re mucking in with packing the Gift Boxes and personalising the ‘Xmasday’ Christmas Cards. There’s still a minute amount of the boxes left, so while stock lasts you can still get yours delivered in time for Christmas. Full details can be found on the Hue and Cry Shop.

It was nice to see some of you at the recent Homecoming Live show, we’ve put some footage up in the music club for those of you who missed out. It was a short and well received set and those who’ll be attending the History City Xmas Weekend will get to see a whole lot more including a few surprises we have up our sleeve! We know that the Friday night show is sold out, but there’s still a handful of tickets left for the Saturday night and this is where we need your help - what would you like us to consider playing at these shows? Head over to the
Hue and Cry Music Club and let us know!

=======================================================================

Hue and Cry on radio and TV this week!

Following their BBC Radio London appearance on Friday, Pat and Greg joined respected Scottish broadcaster and comedian Fred MacAuley on his BBC Radio Scotland show 'McAuley and Co' this morning where they chatted about their new album ‘Xmasday’ and the forthcoming History City Xmas Weekend in Glasgow. They also played a special acoustic version of ‘Players of Games’. If you missed the show you can listen again online.

On Friday (11 December), they will be appearing on Scottish lifestyle show ‘The Hour’ on Scottish Television (STV) where they will be chatting to hosts Michelle McManus and Stephen Jardine and performing a special acoustic track. The Hour is broadcast on STV from 5pm but don’t worry if you miss it or don’t have acces to STV - the interview and performance will be available to view online at stv.com following the broadcast.
