THE BLOW MONKEYS' frontman DR ROBERT will release a new album 'Five In The Afternoon' - a collaboration with soul singer PP ARNOLD - in September and the pair are expected to play a number of dates together around the release.

THOMAS DOLBY will release a new EP on July 17th. The 'SXSW EP' will feature five live tracks recorded at this year's South By South West Festival in AUstin, Texas. See NEWS on the website for the full tracklisting.

STATUS QUO and THE HUMAN LEAGUE are among the headliners at a three-day event in Skegness at the end of August. Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue is to star in a Christmas special of the popular British science-fiction TV drama Doctor Who.

Kylie??will have a "major lead role" in the hour-long episode called "Voyage of the Damned" alongside lead actor David Tennant.??

"It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Doctor Who production for this year's Christmas special," Kylie said. "Doctor Who has a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that."

The episode, which starts filming in Cardiff in July, will be written by Doctor Who executive producer and head writer Russell T Davies. He said: "We are delighted and excited to announce that Kylie Minogue will be joining the Doctor. Doctor Who Xmas specials are always a joy and we feel very confident that this will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet."

The next series of the hit TV series will return in the spring.
