Franz Ferdinand have confirmed details of their live comeback.

The Scottish art-rockers will play a pair of shows in Glasgow next month, unveiling material from the follow-up to 2005's "You Could Have It So Much Better". The gigs take place at the Grand Ole Opry, which has a capacity of about 600, on June 4 with Bricolage and June 5 with The Royal We.

Franz's bass player Bob Hardy leaked news of the dates last week, revealing there are also plans for a show in New York City. He explained: "Hi, just a quick bulletin to tell you that we're planning a couple of small shows in Glasgow and one in New York in the next few weeks. "We'll be trying out some new songs and inviting some other bands that we like to play with us. We'll let you know the details in the next few days, hopefully see you there."

Tickets for the concerts, which go on-sale tomorrow morning, are restricted to two per person.

Portishead are to make their long-awaited live return as curators of All Tomorrow's Parties this Christmas, it has been announced.
??
After a decade out of the limelight, the influential pairing of Geoff Barrow and Beth Gibbons have selected the line-up for the event. The band, who won the Mercury Prize in 1995 for their debut album "Dummy" in 1995 but have not played live for ten years, confirmed the news in a posting on their MySpace.
??
"We have always loved the All Tomorrow's Parties set-up and we're happy our first shows will be there. It's great to have the opportunity to introduce bands we love or have influenced us", the statement reads. "We've chosen a diverse collection of artists to play with us and we're really looking forward to it", said Portishead, who played a low-key acoustic gig in Bristol in February.

All Tomorrow's Parties "Nightmare Before Christmas" takes place in Minehead in December.
