HEAVEN 17's back catalogue remasters are to finally see the light of day on August 7th with the release of reworked, remastered and expanded versions of 'Penthouse and Pavement', 'The Luxury Gap' and 'How Men Are'. The releases have been produced with the full co-operation of the band.

ANNIE LENNOX is in the studio again working on the follow-up to her 2003 album 'Bare'. The album is still in the early stages and no release date has yet been set.

STING
, BONO, BRYAN FERRY and NICK CAVE are among artists who have recorded vocals for a compilation of seafaring songs 'Rogue's Gallery - Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys' which s due out on August 22nd. The project was born from an idea from actor Johnny Depp who was working on the 'Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest'.

BANANARAMA have lined up live dates internationally over the summer with the duo playing shows in the UK, France, Spain and South Africa between now and the end of the year.

DAVID BOWIE, IGGY POP and ROXY MUSIC will all feature on the soundtrack for the forthcoming JOY DIVISION biopic, 'Control'.

follow their current retrospective 'Body Of Work', with a companion album of contemporary remixes entitled 'Body Rework - Remixes' on July 24th.

TINA TURNER has confirmed that she is working on the theme song for the next James Bond film 'Casino Royale'.

KYLIE MINOGUE has announced that she will be putting her 'Showgirl' tour back on the road, rescheduling the postponed Australian shows for November.

is working on an autobiography which is expected to be published next year.

VISAGE, YAZOO, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, BLONDIE, NEW ORDER, HEAVEN 17 and BILLY IDOL are among artists whose songs gave been covered on the new Nouvelle Vague album 'Bande A Part'.

BELINDA CARLISLE has added another date to her forthcoming tour and will play a show at Wolverhampton's Robin 2 on August 9th.

THE ASSOCIATES' classic album 'Wild & Lonely' and Associates frontman BILLY MACKENZIE's solo album 'Outernational' are to be reissued on August 7th as remastered versions with bonus tracks.

THE STRANGLERS are to tour the UK in September and October and have already announced seven shows with more in the pipeline.

GO WEST
will be playing a free show at the Wiltshire Festival at Chippenham's Moncton Park on July 22nd.

CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT singer BEN VOLPELIERE-PIERROT has recorded a new version of Curiosity's hit 'Name & Number' with dance act Elemental to be released on July 24th.

FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM
offshoot NFD play two London shows this month in support of their 'Dead Pool Rising' album which was released at the beginning of June. NFD play The Barfly on June 21st and The Mean Fiddler's 'Fright Club' on June 30th.

JANET JACKSON will release her new album '20 Years Old' on September 26th.

CYNDI LAUPER is among the first artists to be awarded a Platinum award for in excess of a million 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' ringtones sold.

IMAGINATION singer LEEE JOHN will play a jazz set at the forthcoming Birmingham Jazz Festival on July 8th. The show will take place at Birmingham's Electric Theatre.

TONY HADLEY has started to confirm autumn shows to support his much anticipated 'Passing Strangers' swing-inspired album. The shows which will feature the former SPANDAU BALLET singer backed by a seventeen-piece band kick off in October and continue until the end of the year.

GEORGE MICHAEL, ELVIS COSTELLO, BILLY JOEL, STING, ELTON JOHN and BONO have all recorded duets with veteran crooner Tony Bennett for his new album 'Duets - An American Classic' which will be released in September.

BUCKS FIZZ
release a twenty-fifth anniversary album 'The Lost Masters' on July 3rd. The 2 CD set features more then thirty previously unreleased tracks including solo tracks from CHERYL BAKER and new versions of 'My Camera Never Lies' and 'Now Those Days Are Gone'.

MICHAEL JACKSON
has cancelled the release of his long-overdue charity single 'What More Can I Give' in a row over royalties that saw all the performers, musicians and engineers give their services for free while Jackson was to retain all publishing rights to the song which would not have been given to charity.
