Simple Minds are set to kick-off the World Cup at a massive party in Berlin. The Scots rockers will headline at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate on June 7th, two days before the first match. The German capital is throwing a party to start a month-long cultural festival that runs alongside the World Cup.

“Simple Minds are football mad, so this will be the best gig in the world for them,” says a spokesperson for the band. “It comes at a great time in the band’s career - they will also be performing a series of outdoor music festivals all over Europe this summer.”

The band will perform their classic song "Don’t You (Forget About Me)", as well as "Home", from last year’s critically acclaimed album Black & White 050505.

Simple Minds' also play the following UK outdoor concerts:
Dock Rock, Liverpool Summer Pops & Audley End House.

R.E.M. TO PLAY GA MUSIC HALL OF FAME AWARDS CEREMONY

R.E.M. will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on September 16th in Atlanta at the World Congress Center.

Bill, Peter, Mike, and Michael will play a short set to celebrate their induction into the state Hall of Fame whose list of past inductees includes such notables as Ray Charles, James Brown, Otis Redding, Gram Parsons and the B-52-s.

This promises to be a very special evening as, in addition to R.E.M.,??Gregg Allman of The Allmann Brothers Band, Jermaine Dupri, and Dallas Austin will be inducted as well.

25 May 2006 - Onetwo Performing In London And Leipzig

'Onetwo' (aka OMD's Paul Humphries & Propaganda / Act's Claudia Brücken) will be performing a very special show at London's Madame JoJo's in Soho on Thursday 1st June as part of London's premier electro club night 'Electrogogo'. They will be showcasing some of their upcoming long-player 'Instead', as well as playing versions of some classic OMD, Propaganda & Act songs. Philip and Chris (of Manhattan Clique) will also be assisting the duo on stage on additional keyboards.

Tickets are just £5 in advance, £6 at the door.
Doors open at 9pm and the quartet will be on stage at 11pm.

Onetwo will also be headlining the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig, Germany on Sat 3rd June, again with Philip and Chris. More info at http://www.wave-gotik-treffen.de/.
The legendary Nitzer Ebb are also playing their first reunion gig at the festival.'
