| Pop queen Madonna has announced the dates of her new Confessions tour - and promised to "turn the world into one big dance floor". The world tour begins in Los Angeles on May 21 and includes two shows at London's Wembley Arena, as well as her first performance in Wales. Madonna, 47, who has enjoyed 12 number one singles in the UK, has already begun rehearsals in the US with her troupe of musicians and dancers. Tickets, which range from £80 to £160, go on sale at 9am on Friday for Wembley Arena, and a fortnight later for Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. The singer promised: "I'm going to turn the world into one big dance floor." The tour will also include dates in Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Dusseldorf, Hanover, Horsens in Denmark, Osaka and Tokyo. Chicago, Boston, San Jose, Phoenix, Fresno, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami, Montreal and New York are also on the list. The Material Girl's most recent album, Confessions On A Dance Floor, has been a huge hit and been greeted with critical acclaim. The world tour will be the star's first since the Re-Invention Tour in 2004. Jean Paul Gaultier will design costumes for the tour, which will be directed by long-time Madonna collaborator Jamie King with Stuart Price as musical director. |
