Morrissey's current tour of America is in disarray, after he was forced to cancel more shows due to illness.

The former Smiths icon was struck down by a throat infection last week, prompting the premature termination of a concert in Boston.
??
Having already pulled a number of gigs, he has now cancelled three upcoming concerts in Baltimore, Atlantic City and New Jersey and the next scheduled date is in Boston on Sunday.
??
Tonight's postponed show at Rams Head in Baltimore will instead feature a free gig from Smiths tribute act Girlfriend In A Coma, according to the promoters Live Nation.

Kylie Minogue will be the first woman to be honoured with this year's Music Industry Trusts' Award after 20 years in the industry.??She was named "one of the great entertainers of all time" and "an icon of pop and style" by the awards committee - and will join past recipients Sir Elton John and Peter Gabriel in winning the award.

She says, "As well as being a fantastic evening, this award ceremony also raises much needed funds for The Brit Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, and it is a pleasure for me to be involved."

Dave Munns, of the Music Industry Trust, says, "Kylie deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity.
??
The Trust also felt Kylie "has a unique place in this country's heart and an appeal that seems to grow ever wide."

Kylie Minogue will be presented with the honour on 29 October in London.
