18 Jan 2007 - Jarvis For Eurovision?

Jarvis Cocker has followed Morrissey in offering to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest. The former Pulp star, who was nominated for a Brit in the category of Best Male last night, says he would love to write a song for the 2007 contest.

Speaking about last week's news that the former Smiths legend is in discussions with the BBC about composing a 2006 entrant, Jarvis offered his support. "I'm not going to compete with Mozzer if he's going to do it. I'm sure he'll write something good. "The door is always open if they want to ask me. I've always wanted to write one for them. Maybe I'll do it next year," he said.

Jarvis Cocker tours the UK next month. The dates are as follows:

February 2006

16 Sheffield Plug
17 London Astoria
19 Manchester Academy
20 Glasgow ABC

Kylie Minogue has rescheduled two shows after being forced to pull out due to ill health.

A spokesman for EMI confirmed the Monday and Tuesday Showgirls Homecoming concerts were cancelled but will go ahead at the Manchester Evening News Arena on January 21 and 22. The 38-year-old star was forced to finish her show on Saturday early.

A spokesman said: "After being forced to pull out early from Saturday night's Showgirl Homecoming performance at the Manchester Evening News Arena due to a moderately severe respiratory tract infection, doctors have insisted that Kylie Minogue not perform in the immediate future. We currently anticipate that Thursday and Friday nights' shows will not be affected. Whilst we await the all clear from her doctors we wish her a speedy recovery and hope to be able to confirm her return to the stage soon. Anyone who cannot attend the rearranged dates should return their tickets to the point of purchase no later than Friday to claim a refund."

The cancellation of the shows sparked fears the singer had returned to the stage too soon after recovering from cancer. It is still not clear whether Saturday's show will also be rescheduled.
