IRISH BLOOD, ENGLISH HEART

Irish blood, English heart
This I'm made of
There is no one on earth
I'm afraid of
And no regime
Can buy or sell me
I've been dreaming of a time when
To be English
Is not to be baneful
To be standing by the flag not feeling
Shameful, racist or partial
Irish Blood, English heart
This I'm made of
There is no one on earth
I'm afraid of
And I will die
With both my hands untied
I've been dreaming of a time when
The English are sick to death of labour
and Tories
and spit upon the name of Oliver Cromwell
and denounce this royal line that still
Salute him / and will salute him forever

CDS

The "blonde one" from Euro-pop behemoths Abba hasn't released any English language recordings in over eight years. Her welcome return with "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind" is taken from her forthcoming??"My Colouring Book" album heralding a true renaissance for the "voice of Abba". Originally recorded in 1969 by Cilla Black, Faltskog's version is a marvellous amalgamation of epic balladry and sixties production, sounding like a great lost Carpenters' track.

CD1:
1. If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind 3:13
2. If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind - Blue Mix 2:55

CD2:
1. If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind 3:13
2. If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind - Almighty Mix 7:09
3. If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind - Almighty Dub 7:10

Four years ago Agnetha Faltskog??started to research the music of the sixties. She delved into books, checked charts and began collecting large quantities of rare records. The eventual results of this meticulous undertaking became the central focus on "My Colouring Book".

The album was recorded in Stockholm's legendary Atlantis Studios (where Abba first recorded thirty years ago) and features thirteen tracks of mesmerising pop brilliance. "When You Walk In The Room" (written by Jackie de Shannon) and "Sometimes When I'm Dreaming" (written by Mike Batt) are obvious highlights, but they are joined by a host of other classic gems.

12 Apr 2004 - Syntax

??

"Mecano Mind" is the latest album by Syntax. Featuring the smash hit "Message" and the singles "Pray" and "Bliss".

Catalogue Number: ILLLP005

Already a bit of a floor-filler in some of Europe's sweatiest clubs, not-to-mention a regular in the sets of Sasha, Digweed, Seb Fontaine and Paul Oakenfold, amongst other A-list deejays, Illustrious do us all a favour and unleash Syntax's massive prog-trancer 'Pray'. The work of Mike Tournier (Fluke) and vocalist Jan Burton, this is one of those rare tracks that straddles musical boundaries whilst at the same time remaining rooted firmly in the centre of a peaktime dancefloor, ANY peaktime dancefloor! Whilst Junkie XL and Dave London are on hand to deliver the remixes.
